This is a very good idea by the universityhttp://www.highpeakmobiles.co.uk/component/option,com_philaform/Itemid,1790/form_id,3/, and when published will not only help us at the IMPDA but the consumer as well.
Many consumers do not realise until too late that they should have their equipment insured. Now of course the British Insurance body will say well insure it on your household insurance, yes fine but dont take it down the street because your household insurance wont cover it!.
Would you take a chance on driving your car 30 miles if it was only covered by household insurance, i dont think so, yet mobile phones are expensive to replace and need proper cover. It will be interesting to see the results, and we think that High Peak Mobiles is doing the consumer a big favour in running this for the university. Well done
